Optimal Balance
I first discovered my fascination with capital markets and global economics in high school. Raised by lower middle-class Depression era parents, I was all too familiar with scarcity and risk in financial markets. Forever banned by Dad from playing little league baseball because I chose to make money with a paper route was my first major economic decision and consequence.
On a quest to get to law school I gained business experience in the restaurant, corporate services, and global shipping industries. While attending the University of Washington I discovered an aptitude for software engineering and dropped out of college to follow in Bill Gates footsteps with a successful career at Microsoft. Technically I just needed a full-time job to support my wife and first child, but the Bill Gates angle sounds more exciting.
Surrounded by some of the smartest investors at Microsoft, my early fascination with capital markets stirred up discontent as an engineer while me and my co-workers observed and commented on the rise and fall of the housing market, culminating with the Great Recession. Studying the inner workings of Wall Street with my peers (derivatives, collateralization, securitization, high-frequency trading, etc.) and watching in real time as the U.S. central bank nearly “ran out of money”, I realized I needed something more than a job to provide for the family as our first child was about to head to college.
Leaving Microsoft to run my own business and free myself from the excesses and abuses of what I call Nouveau Capitalism, I developed an appreciation for the hard work and financial risks and rewards of independent business ownership. After successfully learning the hair salon and carbide import/distribution business, in 2018 I discovered a niche where my early passion for traditional sound capital investment could flourish.
Today I provide client services through Keystone Advisor & Management as a licensed real estate broker and strategic planner at Kelly Right Real Estate. My clients seek stable homes or steady passive income at retirement with the freedom to spend their time pursuing their own internal passions both now and into the future.
Through Kelly Right Real Estate I help clients achieve their financial dreams by providing relationship-based real estate brokerage, planning, and financial consulting, to maximize the efficient use of their limited funds.
Traditional real estate brokers operate as salespeople, always looking for the next person to sell something to. I've built my business on the foundations of educating, consulting, and providing reliable information to anyone considering their options in real estate. Sometimes, this process even results in helping them decide not to buy or sell.

If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it’s not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That’s why it’s your path.
